2.  Leading the Call and welcome

  • With 10 people expect the call to take about 60 minutes.

  • Start the call on time

Guidance – this script is provided for your assistance. You are welcome to deviate and adjust for your own style as long as the full content is included. Please keep the calls light and humorous to help everyone relax and show up in the spirit of friendship.

Before you start, welcome those as they join in the call. Officially start the call at 2-minutes after the hour. It’s important to forge ahead and create time integrity around our calls.

Late joiners? If it’s someone’s first call, they must be on from the beginning. Simply say: “It’s going to be challenging to merge you into the conversation. We’d love to get you on another call so you get the full benefit. Can I follow-up with you after the call?

If they are a seasoned member, they must arrive before the guidance is complete.  If not, simply say: “So sorry, we’re too far into the call to merge you. Can you go back and get yourself signed up on another call?”

New people – go last for the asks

Note – in this document, with the exception of section title, anything inside a box is for your guidance, script that you would say is listed outside of a box.

NOTE – PLEASE LET PAM KNOW IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE RECORDING THE TRAINING PORTION OF THE CALL.  Once you’ve recorded the call, please put it into the following G-Drive folder – https://drive.google.com/a/wildfirews.com/?tab=mo#folders/0B-noD6UqMfTBR0ROY1BJaEs0Q2M

Welcome everyone (your words)

Are there any new people?

Let’s set the context for today’s call.

The EBC’s Vision is to connect and assist like-minded thought-leaders whose collective mission is to make the world a better place.  In the EBI, which is a special category of membership in the EBC, we focus on training you to effectively become an influencer and powerfully collaborate with other influencers.

3. Introductions –

Ask if there is anybody new? If not, proceed with Agenda.

If a newcomer, welcome them, share the agenda, notify them they will go last to get the hang of it.

Go through everyone.

Guidance – Notice if people are introducing themselves in a way that’s irrelevant to the influence game. Watch for words like “coach” or “consultant”.  This is akin to introducing yourself as a badminton player on the hockey rink. Make sure they say what they do in the influence game and stand in it powerfully.  Otherwise offer to coach them.

We’ll do introductions first. Ask if there is anybody new?

You’ll have 30 seconds to introduce yourself.   Please include your name, your company, a sentence of what you do and who is your targeted demographic.

I’ll go first to give you an example.

My name is _________.  My company is _________.  I teach / train on  __________ .  My targeted demographic is ______________.   OR I typically speak at [who typically hires / books you to speak].

4. Attendance – Award Kudos Points

Take Attendance! Tick off the check box “Attended” below each person’s picture. Then scroll to the top of this script and click on “Award EBCudos To Attendees”.

The fun news is you call get Cudos (points) for being on this call so I’m going to take attendance right now.  You can use your points for fun things in the EBCudos store.

Section 5 a) – Coaching and training.  (Ends at 25 min after the hour)

We’re going to start with a few minutes of coaching and training.  This part of our call will be recorded and posted on the website.  Today’s topic is _[YOUR TOPIC]_.   Is there anyone on the call, who would like to be personally coached on this topic? (i.e. we’d focus on you as an example and give you ideas / guidance and others get to learn from that).

Section 5 b)  HIT RECORD!  (or if Pam is on the call, she will do this for you)

Start your topic/coaching

Today’s topic is ….

Section 5 C)  Complete your 15 to 20 minutes of coaching and training.

Stop the recording at this point.  When the call is over you will send the final recording to Pam by putting it with it’s date in the G-Drive folder – https://drive.google.com/a/wildfirews.com/?tab=mo#folders/0B-noD6UqMfTBR0ROY1BJaEs0Q2M

Section 6 a)  Collaboration Hot seats – explaining the rules

NOTE THIS HAS CHANGED – ASKS ARE NOW OPTIONAL

The rules for new people (Skip this section if no new folks)

6 b)  Facilitating the hot seats – Start the first person

Guidance

  • Always stick to one to two minutes per person. Shorten the call if fewer than 10 are present.
  • Someone going too long? Please interrupt and prompt them to make their ask, e.g.  “I want to make sure everyone has time to give you support.”
  • Use your intuition. There is a slight bit of slush time for struggling moments. You can let people go slightly over their five-minutes if they are struggling or if cutting them off would feel heavy-headed on the call.
  • Make sure they keep it to one ask. Interrupt them if ask for multiple things
  • If anyone gets stuck, make a suggestion, e.g. “Do you want us all to send traffic to your blog?”

Coaching Points

The calls are created for collaboration to grow your influence.

Please remember, not everyone can help everyone. From recommending others for speaking, to promoting them on your list, some things are simply not a fit to work together.

One of the reasons we created these mastermind collaboration calls is to deepen our relationships with each other so we can powerfully endorse, support and recommend each other to other influencer’s.

Most of us know, we need to see somebody speak before we can authentically recommend them. These recommendations come from creating deep relationships from repeatedly joining the calls.  .

So here’s what works on these calls:

The game is to help each other grow influence. When you’re on the call listening to each other’s asks, consider how you can best support them. Such as:

  • Can you introduce them to great contacts to help them grow their reach?
  • Can you give them a shout out in social media?
  • Can you offer content to their blog or post theirs to your blog?
  • Can you joint venture with each other to create new products or opportunities

These are just examples.  Everyone has one minute and you can either make an ask or offer something to the others to build relationship.

If you’re making an asked, we suggest you make it bold.

Here’s what’s going to happen.

When I call on you, you have 1 minute.  Please set some context of what you’re asking for. Then others will say if they can support you and you will communicate by email after the call. (Format is they speak for one minute other respond for one minute)

Ground rules around your ask:

The best asks are focused on growing your influence, such as:

  • assistance with a campaign
  • a fabulous Amazon review for your book
  • connections to get interviewed and / or speaking engagements
  • energy to your Facebook page
  • recommendations on LinkedIn
  • opportunities to connect with other folks on the call at a deeper level

Asks that don’t work:

  • asking for money, sponsorships or investors
  • asking for direct referrals, such as: I need more clients. Who can you send me

Because we are a relationship-based organization, another way to ask for a referral would be asking for a warm introduction to create a relationship. For example, I want to speak at more NSA groups. Do you have a connection at some chapters so I can start creating relationships?

This applies to what you’re sending on social media too.  If you asking people to post sales posts, we recommend you send them content posts primarily.

Now let’s talk about powerful ways you can help each other grow your influence and your business:

You want to give support not advice.

Most of you do this, here’s just a quick reminder. Let’s say someone on the call asks for a speaker connection in Dallas.

Advice would be:

  • “Have you thought about calling the head of NSA in Dallas?”

We would rather have support. Support would be:

  • “I have a dear friend at NSA in Dallas. Let me do a warm email to introduce you.”

NOTE: SILENCE IS Ok. Often you make an ask and everyone is silent. This is common.

Sometimes people need time to think. As the call leader I’ll guide the call and move us into new asks if that’s necessary.

One more thing. After the call I will send a quick email reconnecting everyone. Remember, the responsibility is on you, the asker, to send an email clarifying the fulfillment of your request.

Such as.. Thank you Laura for agreeing to be a part of my best seller campaign. The date of the campaign is _____. I will send all the necessary info in the next three weeks.

or

Steve, Thanks for agreeing to introduce me to Richard Branson. Below is an introduction to make it really easy for you. Thanks for making this introduction.

or

Thanks for agreeing to put my tweets in your social media dashboard. I appreciate you sourcing my content as an expert in my field. Here is a link with 20 tweets to choose from. Link______ Thank you again.

Any questions so far?

Please share your most successful ___[lead generation]______ tip. What worked, what didn’t?

7. Grow the EBC Community 2 minutes

NOTE: When you have the name of a possible member, please put these names in the email you send out after the call  e.g. thank you Laura for mentioning Charlie in London.  I’m flagging Teresa that you may be talking to that person

cc. Teresa to follow up on any people recommended for membership

As we close…

If you are emailing an introduction, please make sure you powerfully introduce both parties and set the context so everyone can win. Email introductions are in each member’s profile. Go check and make sure yours is up to date and reflects your current branding.

Now for the EBC ask:

We are growing the EBC to become powerful enough to to create international recognition such as putting anyone one of us on the New York Times bestseller list. We are looking for members who meet the criteria for the EBC, especially international members in English speaking countries.

Those criteria for membership are:

  • They’re someone who gets the power of both giving and receiving
  • They’re someone of influence – who is clearly in the “one-to-many” conversation, they have a minimum personal reach of at least 10,000
  • They stand at that powerful convergence of spirituality and business i.e. you’re in business to make the world a better place.

Or if they are close to meeting these criteria, we would look at discussing the EBI with them.

When they have someone, say:

Is it ok if I include _____ name in our group email, flagging Teresa there are some conversations being created about a possible new member?

Is it ok if I include _____ name in our group email, flagging Teresa there are some conversations being created about a possible new member?

Let’s spend a moment talking about how to make the EBI really work for you.

The way to really outrageously grow your business and your influence is by really building relationship with other members.  To get the biggest return:

  • we highly recommend you to be on at least 2 calls per month.  The collaboration calls are the backbone of the EBI and can catapult you quickly to your business goals.
  • Another way to get high value is to come to live meetings.  The live meetings are simply awesome. There’s leading edge learnings to take your business to the next level and of course you will really deepen the connections with other influential members who are as committed to causing global change as you.
  • Another added bonus is you can connect via the member forum.  It’s a great place to post or respond to “asks” or engage with other EBI leaders.

8. Announcements  2 minutes

  1. As a member of the EBC, you are very much welcome to join an intimate gathering in Atenas, Costa Rica for the EBC & TWC Mastermind on April 23 to 25, 2018. The details will be in the follow up email I’ll send out. The link with details will be in the follow up email I’ll send out.

  3. In keeping with the EBC goal that our members reach 1.2 billion people by 2020, we’ve started to count our members reach so we can track our progress toward this goal.   You may have also seen an email from us on this.  It’s to all our members, requesting information on everyone’s reach.  So far, less than one third of our members have responded and we’re already at a collective reach of over 210.1 Million!  Yeah, can’t wait to see what our true collective reach is.
  4. Are you travelling in the near future?  If so you can connect with the EBC ambassador in that area to connect with EBC members in other centers.  Click the ambassador link in the email I send after the call to set something up. It’s a great way to connect with other leaders in the EBC.
  5. Also the EBC has a twitter feed and we make posters of your more inspirational quotes to post on our Facebook page. Please share these when you see them and send yours to Marife to be included.

Any questions or comments?

I will connect everyone by email after the call to make it really easy for you. Please respond to all requests within 24 hours unless you’ve let people know that the follow up will be at a future date (such as for a large campaign).

When I send out the email after this call, I’ll provide the link for you to register for the next EBC events.

Thank you for being here.

2.  Set the Agenda

  • With 7 people expect the call to take about 45 minutes.

  • Start the call on time

Welcome everyone. Review the agenda

Here’s what we’re covering today:

  • Introductions – you’ll have 1 minute to introduce yourself, who your ideal client is, and what you’re really excited about.

  • Next, I’ll share a learning moment

  • After that, we’ll have a Brain Booster Discussion on a topic and everyone will share. Today’s topic is____.

  • Then, we’ll go to Asks

  • And I’ll share the announcements and we’ll close out the call.

  • First, let me share the Kudos Points.

3. Attendance – Award Kudos Points

4. Ask if there is anybody new? If not, proceed with Agenda.

If a newcomer, welcome them, share the agenda, notify them they will go last to get the hang of it.

5.  Introductions – 1 minute each

Please introduce yourself,

  • what you teach

  • who your preferred client demographic is and

  • what you’re really excited about. 1 minute each

(Call Leader go first to show them. Then, have attendees go in the order they came on the call and announce their order so they know.)

OPTIONAL – 5B. Rapport Moment – 2 minutes total (This can be skipped for bigger calls)

If you wish share an experience that would lead to  business acumen and competency that EBCers can learn from. e.g. allow them to learn from a mistake you’ve made.  E.g. Lisa Mininni shared a business learning moment. This time it was about someone she met years ago, who came into her life again. Learning Moment: you never know why someone is in your life, but it’s something to learn from who may end up being a client later. Ask them what they got from it if there’s time.

6. Brain Booster Discussion – 15-20 minutes

Pick a topic. E.g. Lisa Mininni picked Lead Generation. Bring your own style of fun / value to the call.

OPTIONAL 6B – Check if anyone wants to volunteer to write a Brain Booster Blog – You or another member of the call can summarize the points and prepare an EBC Blog post if they wish on this topic.  (get the volunteer before starting)

Please share your most successful ___[lead generation]______ tip. What worked, what didn’t?

7. Power Asks  1 minute max each

If you need to coach them on their asks – send them to the training or FAQ section of the website.

Everyone should have 1 powerful ask. Make it bold.

We’d like you’re ask to be aligned with what you’re really big goal in the world is.  I.e. what are you up to causing?  And at the same time, please make the ask something others would be able to support you with I.e. don’t propose marriage on the first date

8. Grow the EBC Community 2 minutes
